Monday Motivation – Just Do It!

Last week I was getting a much needed facial and chatting it up with my esthetician about life and our careers when I disclosed my desire to obtain my real estate license.  After she asked me what’s stopping me, I proceeded to give her this long list of reasons why I hadn’t done it just yet.  She let me finish and then said something so simple but very profound at the same time. And that was, “I’m sure you like to plan and wait until things are just right, but sometimes the first step of the plan is to JUST DO IT”!

I thought about that later as I was driving home and I realized she was absolutely right! With very few exceptions, I set a goal, make a plan, and then take action. Exactly in those steps.  I’m sure if you’re a reader of this blog, you’d likely say the same when it comes to your decision-making. And I agree that ninety percent of the time that is the smartest way to do things.  However, I also think those times when we find ourselves dragging our feet, or pushing back something that we really want to do out of fear or uncertainty it’s time to check ourselves!

For me, my excuse has been that my day job fulfills most of my needs.  It challenges me, pays well, and I’m good at it.  But while I enjoy my 9-5, and am fully committed to it, oh how I love learning, reading, and viewing anything real estate related!

So as my esthetician checked me last week, this Monday I’m paying it forward to you.  As we start the first full week of fall, I ask you, what decisions, personal or professional, that you find yourself putting off? Maybe it’s starting a new business or changing careers? Taking a solo trip? Making a major move?

Because there is no time like the present to get it done! And as you do I urge you to keep a few things at the forefront of your mind:

  1. Everything and I mean everything is figureoutable!
  2. Always move forward, through the easy and difficult times!
  3. There’s always a cheerleader among the naysayers; you just need to find them!
  4. Maximize every minute of your time!
  5. Stay clear on your purpose, and NEVER give up on your passions!

You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. If that’s something you want to do then go for it. What God has For you it is for you.

Congrats on deciding to enroll in your real estate class! I FINALLY decided to punch frar in the gut and start my own blog after being asked to be a contributing blogger on another blog. I was in real estate many moons ago (commercial and residential)…I’ve recently been toying with the idea of getting into staging
